Happy Easter everyone! Hope you're having/have had a lovely day. We don't tend to go in much for Easter gifts in this house but a couple of lovely friends gave me presents. The book turned up unexpectedly courtesy of my friend Lee and the utterly adorable Peter Rabbit glove puppet was from Lisa. And yes, I did immediately put it on and start acting that I was in Mr McGregor's garden. The egg is courtesy of my Dad - bless him, he knows I'm still struggling with the diet so this has 3 champagne truffles (dairy free of course) inside. I've had one and I'll ration out the others. Plus the everso pretty egg is actually a little storage pot!
I've got the rare treat of having the house to myself today so have enjoyed a bit of an indulgent morning. A leisurely read through the Sunday paper, a homemade Easter scone and a lovely cup of tea, ahhhh bliss! The rest of the day has been far more dull as I've slogged through 3 hours worth of ironing but it needed doing so I feel fairly pleased with myself now.
And as I did promise the pics, here is the new blazer. I've been on the hunt for a jersey blazer for ages but I've never found one that's quite right as they tended to be a bit shapeless. This is such a great cut and looks fab on, even if I do say so myself! I think I've just about got over the shopping guilt. It wasn't expensive as such (£35) but that was about all the money I had free to spend on clothes this month and I hadn't planned to blue it all on one thing. Ah well, I plan on getting a fair bit of wear out of it.
It's part of my races outfit, to go over the blue and cream polka dot dress I bought on the big March shopping trip. Other parts of the outfit - shoes and cute hairband - were an early birthday present from my best friend and the timing couldn't have been better as it had completely escaped my memory that I actually needed to put together a nice outfit. I don't usually dress up for the races as we don't go on Ladies Day (the clothes/hair/makeup then has to be seen to be believed!) but I am full of body confidence this year and I want to wear something pretty! Pics of the whole outfit up on Thurs/Fri this week. Any idea about what to wear on my legs? I don't want the outfit to be unrelentingly navy, much as I love it...
What about some black footless tights? They're not as thick as leggings so they're more summery. I live in them in the summer! I like M&S's ones, I think they're 60 denier, but I've seen some that are 80 and 120 denier in Dotty P's!
ReplyDeleteI think it'd be nice with bare legs to be honest, as long as the weather is nice - show em off! :)
ReplyDeleteI lov ethat blazer and flats! The colour is so beautiful...Happy Easter
ReplyDeleteOooh I'd wear grey tights to go with the trim on the blazer, which I love by the way. Where did you get it?

Love the blazer, flower & shoes!! Navy IS tricky,I have the same dilemma as to what to do with the legs!!Maybe white tights??Bare legs,if it is warm enough,or perhaps red tights???Beige fishnets make a good basic, too, that go with anything!!
ReplyDeletethat blazer is perfect!
