(incidentally, are we all in agreement that my cup is awesome? Good, thought as much)
I even took advantage of a rare moment of sunshine and went for a lunchtime walk around work. We pratted around in fine style.
Not me.
Cousin It (aka me standing in the ha-ha)
Even the fresh air didn't wake me up for more than about an hour. It doesn't help that I'm doing loads of computer based stuff at the moment and it's making me go a bit squinty eyed.
Be gone evil monster.
February is a notoriously busy month at work and this year will be no exception. I will try and keep up with blogging but my brain will probably have melted by the end of the month so I was pondering doing something easy. Anyone up for a hat/headwear challenge week - 7 days, 7 different looks? I have all these unworn hats on my hatstand and they're starting to look at me with little pitiful "wear me" faces.
ps - There's a giveaway coming up at the weekend. Promise. I'm tracking down prizes as you're reading this.
ur cup is amazing - that all I have to say :)
ReplyDeleteMwah xxx
You work so hard and read so much, I think you more than deserve a rest. Don't work yourself down.
ReplyDeleteA hat challenge would be fabulous, I am always intrigued by a challenge. If your hat collection is anything like your shoe collection I am already in awe! x
Oh I do the same and bitterly regret it too but you'll be okay after tonight. That cup is HUGE!!
ReplyDeletexx
A hat/headwear challenge sounds intriguing! I'd love to see :)
ReplyDeleteAlso iced bun and tea is usually my saviour too, it's been such a long week I'm feeling absolutely pooped so may need a glorious huge cup of tea like yours in the morning to perk me up! x
I'm quite sensible when working, but the very best thing about weekends and hols is being able to sit up all night reading a book in one go. Although I haven't worked out how to avoid numb bum when reading in bed - it gets soooooo uncomfy! xx
ReplyDeleteiced buns are definately the way to go........that one does look particularly inviting!!
ReplyDeletelike the thought of a hat challenge :) that cup is amazing, agreed!

Hat challenge sounds very fun! I remember walking along that path by the mersey when I used to visit there when I was little :) nothing like a walk along the mersey to wake you up a bit.
ReplyDeleteI did that with my Dorothy Sawyer the other night. What was the book? Btw, I drink black coffee too, but don't have a mug nearly as cool as yours x
ReplyDeleteWhat was the book? I need to know. That iced bun looks heavenly. What's with the sunshine, it's decidedly grey here and blowing up a right storm, too. xxx
ReplyDeletePS A headwear challenge sounds awesome, count me in, please.
Please do the hat challenge, I love any kind of head wear so I'd love to see that!
ReplyDeleteYeah as Vix said what had you so hooked? I wanted to do the same as hubby had bought me the next HP book but I just couldn't keep my eyes open as I had little sleep the night before.
ReplyDeleteAwesome cup. And yes to a headwear challenge. Sounds fun. x
The Slump! So there's a name for it!
ReplyDeleteI won't be sad if I never see a giant computer screen again, so I sympathise.

Hey Alex! Sorry my posts weren't showing up...silly blogger. And brilliant, I was worried my letter hadn't gotten to you! And the slump monster had an encounter with me this morning, not good, especially as I was up early for volunteering! The headwear challenge sounds amazing, but I only have one hat haha so I can pretend I have other fabulous head attire, but it might not be as cool. xxx
ReplyDeleteYour cup is indeed awesome, I can't believe you can lift it up with one hand!
ReplyDeleteyay for the polka dot cup, surely enough to chase away the slump-monster?! it looks rather fun outside where you work, i must make sure i visit one day!! :)
ReplyDeleteoh and yes please for the hat challenge, i love hats at the moment..
ReplyDeleteWe all want to know what the book was! I stayed up later than I should have last night with Maggie O'Farrell so yes as you asked, I AM enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteI do like your mug from an aesthetic point of view, however, practically, I can see it would be the the one to spill on the tea tray every time (an important factor when choosing a work mug!)
I like the sound of your hat challenge, but unless 'headwear' can be extended to hairgrips I'll have to count myself out, am not great with hats!
GIVE ME THE MUG.
ReplyDeleteI hate that slump monster, he's a killer. Mine usually appears after lunchtime, anywhere between 2-3pm. Have I occasionally nearly headbutted the desk falling asleep? Why yes, yes I have.
Go for the headgear challenge I say. I look a twerp in hats so I will look on admiringly and occasionally applaud.
Yes your cup is awesome- it looks like you could get a lot of tea in that (the more the better). We had some lovely sunshine yesterday too, shame it's so grey today!
ReplyDeleteI look terrible in most hats so intrigued to see what you come up with! xx
The cup is indeed awesome, i love it! Have a fab weekend Alex x
ReplyDeleteHi Alex, I've not long started following your blog (thanks to Vix) and this is my first comment. I'm absolutely definitely up for a hat challenge as I have 200 or so vintage hats in stock at the moment. For me it would be good if it were a couple of weeks off.
ReplyDeleteAh I usually manage to take regular naps at work, v handy! Cant wait for another giveaway, yay! :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean Alex, I'm currently sat at work (shhhhh) trying to keep my eyes open and counting down the hours until hometime (1hr and 25mins). I only have a couple of hats that I mainly look ridiculous in so I'm going to pass on the hat challange! Would love to see your pic though! xxx
ReplyDeleteDearest Alex, love the mug and yes, please tell us what the book was.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the hat challenge, I might join you. I have a little something for you, can you email me your address again please xx
You are so darn cute! I completely, entirely hear you on feeling sluggish too early in the day. I've had some challenging days (and nights) at work this week and I do NOT want to be moving around, interacting with others.
ReplyDeleteI love your picture story! :)
as i write this i am about to indulge in some jaffa cakes and tea, my daily 4 o'clock slump monstering is calling me! p.s. i wouldnt mind drinking tea from that lovely mug xx
ReplyDeleteOh oh I did as well *raises hand* but only because I got too excited just as I was about to go to bed around midnight, and then I laid down and my brain just couldnt stop buzzing, so I lay there like an idiot for another 2 hours, before I just gave up and went to read a book, but then I fell straight away :P haha! Stupid me!
ReplyDeleteAnd at least you had a somewhat nice day, even though you were tired and under attack:P the walk looks nice, though very windy! (We got holes in our roofs from all the wind! A mans coming to fix it tomorrow.. )
Oh, you poor thing, being that tired is the worst, especially when it's self-inflicted!! Your ice bun looks AMAZING though. I am so intrigued by where you work, it's stunning, am not sure I've ever seen you say where it is though (or maybe I've just missed it). Gorgeous photos though!
ReplyDeleteThe cup is indeed awesome (though possibly not as awesome as your iced bun).
ReplyDeleteThe hat/ headwear challenge sounds great - I have so many hats I never wear so I'd love to be inspired to.
(My mobile phone pictures are mainly taken with an 'app' called Instagram or I upload them to Flickr and edit them with Picnik. I'm not ashamed of cheating when it comes to photography) xxx
Nope, not just you. Ok, last night just you. Last week, me too. It was 'Matched' and it probably wasn't worth it. Hey, at least you'll sleep well tonight!
ReplyDeleteOh and I'd love to see you with some of these hats on. You should totally make them travel the world and we all have a go ;) Haha.
ps. Your mug is huge! I love it.
ReplyDeleteUgh. I had barely any sleep either, but that was because I was at the river at 6am this morning - sometimes I wonder why I cox!
ReplyDeleteI am def a fan of the huge mug though. Awesome.
No one could deny the awesomeness of the cup.
ReplyDeleteNom nom nom. I love iced bun cakes! That looks like such a lovely place to have a lunchtime wander too. :)
ReplyDeleteso cute immages...
ReplyDeleteBooks ARE so pleasantly addicting and sometimes a very tiresome love. I feel your pain! I was up late reading my latest book about the French Revolution- it was too intriguing to put down!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a mid afternoon slump now, could just do with a nap!!
ReplyDeleteI wore a hat today - quite rare for me - pics coming soonies :D
Also on the baby name front - we have thought of a few - but keeping them secret for now :D
Sal xXx
This post made me laugh - I'm always in need of coffee and cake at work, that one looks delicious! Hope work's not too busy for you x
ReplyDeleteCan you actually HIDE behind that cup?
ReplyDeleteZ xx
