It is perhaps not as exciting as the red shorts outfit featured earlier in the week but woman cannot live by red shorts alone. I love my jeans and I shudder to think what would happen if I worked in a place that had a dress code that banned them. Black trousers are just so dull. I haven't bought a pair for years and they won't be on my shopping list any time soon.
Equally I don't feel as if I should shy away from posting my slightly more mundane outfits. I sometimes feel under this unspoken pressure to bust out a new item of clothing or something a bit daring in my outfit posts. Realistically though, I wear a variation of jeans and jumper/shirt at least twice a week so why not blog it occasionally?
I'm rather pleased with this shirt all of a sudden. It was a charity shop whim purchase - it's from Zara and looks practically brand new, plus it was only about £2 or so. I've never been quite happy with it though. I think it's cut for someone a bit taller than me as I tend to feel slightly swamped by the collar and the sleeves are definitely too long. Today it just sort of worked though. Maybe it's the extra button undone? I even like the way it looks under the jacket and I really wasn't convinced it would work with the short sleeves on that.
Shirt - Zara, via charity shop
Jeans - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - Next clearance store (how cute are the heels please?)
Necklace - Sunday Girl Accessories
Jacket - H&M sale
Very, very cute heels! I never find anything that nice in my local Next clearance.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about blogging your regular, perhaps less exciting outfits. I've only been doing my "week in my wardrobe" for 2 weeks and I can feel myself panicking that I'm going to repeat myself. But in reality, I don't buy a weeks' worth of clothes every week (thankfully!) so naturally I am going to repeat things, or wear less exciting things, from time to time. I think it's just as intersting to see your more caasual stuff so hopefully people might think the same of mine (fingers crossed).

Fabulous- the blue shade of the shoes is lovely.
ReplyDeleteNowt wrong with jeans. I'm a jeans and t-shirt gal myself. Love those shoes and yes, those heels are very cute indeed, as is the colour.
ReplyDeleteI wish jeans would feature in more blogs, they can look utterly incredible and you certainly don't make them mundane or ordinary.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are a beautiful colour and I love the "A" necklace, too. xxx
Love the shoes the frill detail is very cute! And yes jeans can be boring but we all wear them (I am today ;) and they can be wonderfully styled. Yours look great with the shirt, defo a great charity shop buy!
ReplyDeleteBy the way my dressing table was only that neat as I'd just dusted it.. usually it has cat hairs on it.. xx
i LOVE SAILOR GEAR! AND THOSE SHOES - YUM! X
ReplyDeleteyes, those shoes are fab!! what a great find. and i thnk the shirt looks great with this outfit, i love the necklace too.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes think "i can't wear those together, i've already blogged that outfit"..and then try to find something else which vaguely works..
Thank you for your wonderful comment today, you had very good points. P.s Love your shoes xxx
ReplyDeleteOoh so pretty, I love love blue, think about half my garments have something blue in them, the blouse is especially fab. I actually put down a blue stripey shirt in the charity shop earlier cause there were marks on the arm, now wishing I'd bought it! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the different tones of blue in the outfit and those shoes are delightful! I definately don;t know what I would do if someone took my jeans away from me!
ReplyDeleteI used to wear a proper shirt and jeans all the time, but I barely have this year. Must crack one out of the wardrobe soon! Loving yours and admire you being able to leave the sleeves down. I rolls/push sleeves of practically everything up, which my grandmother continues to tell me is completely unladylike. Well there isn't much else that is, so why change the habit of a lifetime I suppose.
ReplyDeletePretty shoes also. Always pretty shoes!
You look fantastic in jeans. I think people forget that they can look really smart. I couldn't managed without them - I can't wait for this dress a day malarky to be over.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I ADORE your whole look, especially the shoes and jacket!!!!
ReplyDelete...Sorry, forget to add, HELLO from a random visitor, I saw your name on someone else's blog and it was such a lovely blog title, I just HAD to come and peek!
ReplyDeleteOMG I have those shoes in the black - we are officially shoe twins! So jealous of you wearing jeans at work. :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't comment re your red shorts, but was going to say you looked amazing in them. You also look fantastic in your jeans - and the blue suede shoes are fab!
ReplyDeleteI love the long sleeve-short sleeve combo! And I don't think you look mundane at all! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit. This is the kind of thing I'd love to wear in a work-place or even out and about. I'm pretty much a jeans, top and cardigan/jacket kind of person so this is me all over. And those shoes are really nice. xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the blue on blue on blue action.
ReplyDeleteLooking fab, and I want your shoes quite badly!! xxx
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are gorgeous, I love the colour!
ReplyDelete'Woman cannot live by red shorts alone,' ha! Yeah I don't think I could live in a denimless office... Daily I give thanks for the girls on the fashion desk whose outrageous experimentation means I can wear pretty much whatever I want without drawing comment.
ReplyDeleteK xx
love the a nacklace, Im obsessed with h jewellery and always buying tons of silly things. this outfit is cool, that coat is fab (I have a similar one) and those shoes are totally lush!! i have days where I war really boring stuff like trousers and a top but on other days i do try and experiment a bit, makes it all a bit more fun but i agree that black trousers are pretty dull saying that i love my black skinny jeans
ReplyDeleteBow Dream Nation xx
though the outfit is monochromatic but it's boring at all because of the pops of bright blues! i love it! <3

Love!xxx
Loving the outfit. Those shoes are fab.
ReplyDeleteI hate having the restraints of a corporate dress code. It's a real pain. Mind you they all know that I will bend the rules as much as I can without breaking them!
thanks for the tip on commenting, it was driving me mad!

i love your heels! and i completely know what you mean about the pressure to have a new piece of clothing to show in an outfit post x
ReplyDeleteElla @ Belle Vintage
And very nice blue suede shoes they are too!
ReplyDeleteAnd, if that is 'mundane' dressing, I wish I could manage 'mundane' every day! You look great and the wall's not looking too bad either!
Have a great Bank Holiday W/E. Are you working over it?
Z xx
I like the outfit :) I know what you mean about feeling the pressure for something daring and edgy... OR new. Part of why I post outfits less. I get in the mindset that it needs to excite and that is an expensive mindset.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are adorable and I would wear them all the time. They are, in fact, more practical than red shorts :) (I loved your red shorts!)
**If you get this then that means something is working.. though it is not fixed completely. I still can't get to my dashboard...
That jacket is ADORABLE! I saw one like this in a shoppe window the other day and ever since then I've been noticing navy jackets everywhere! I want one!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes roll up the sleeves on a shirt if I am feeling swamped and that usually does the trick for me. I think it looks great on you though. xx
