Meet Phil

Tuesday, 13 October 2015

I went to the RSPCA cattery a couple of weeks ago for a wander round and rather lost my heart to this little fella. It's been nearly six months since Oscar went and although I'm still not over that (you never really are, are you? I'm going to miss my ginger bundle of fluff forever), the house needs a cat in it and I need something to spoil rotten.

Apparently poor Phil was very shy and bewildered about why he was in for rehoming. Everyone said he would take ages to settle in and probably be hiding underneath things for weeks. HA. Yeah, right. Took him about 20 minutes to get his paws well and truly settled in once he was through the front door.

His favourite things are:

Catnip mouse. Kills it dead at least three times a day.

Snoozing.

Sitting on me.

Not standing still long enough to have his photo taken.

Lounging around.

He's quite the dude.

Cracking Christmas Giveaway: Day Six

Thursday, 6 December 2012

Day Six sees me calling all crazy cat ladies (and gentlemen. Wouldn't want to discriminate!) and #wardrobezoo fans.  On offer today are:

A cat bag and ring, purchased by me (both from ASOS)

And this fabulous Puss In Books book provided by the British Library gift shop

Raise your paw if you want to win them!  Gosh, I really need to stop picking giveaway prizes that I want to keep for myself.  This ring is adorable, the bag is beautiful (and big! I love a big clutch) and the book looks fascinating, with a whole host of feline themed nursery rhymes, poems, stories and gorgeous illustrations.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Dog People, Beware

Saturday, 29 October 2011

It's National Cat Day today, so I'm handing over to a very special guest poster:

I'm Oscar.

Her What Writes The Blog got a birthday present back in April 1996. It was an IOU for a ginger bundle of fluff. She had to wait till August for me though!

I was very small with great big ears and paws

Then I grew a bit

And now I'm a great big devilishly handsome chap

My hobbies are:

Finding places where I can spread maximum amounts of ginger fluff

Sitting on my Uncle Ken

(oh he's going to kill her for that)

Helping! I especially enjoy jigsaws, sewing and computer work.

Sleeping

Pretending I'm a jockey

Miaowing. I am an excellent conversationalist.

And generally being handsome. She regularly assures me I am The Most Handsome Cat In All The Land.

I think she's right, don't you?

My Charity Shop Luck Turns

Monday, 15 August 2011

I have had no charity shop luck for ages. A change of scenery this weekend did the trick though! I was kitten wrangling and house sitting in the wilds of West Lancashire as my brother was off having a drunken birthday weekend somewhere. Whilst I was there, what could be better than a little trip to Ormskirk and Burscough to check out their charity shops?

M&S Limited Collection shorts

An old Pentax camera case. How cute a handbag will this make? Look:

Two scarves, only £1 each. If the Aquascutum one is real then I will be as pleased as punch. If not, it's still rather fab so I don't really care.

Jewels! The beads and scarf ring were both half price at 70p and 50p respectively. The marcasite brooch was the princely sum of £3.50.

Oh and some books. Obviously.

And in non-charity shop related news, I went to a sweet shop:

And ate leftover birthday cake (triple choc fudge cake with sea salt and lime chocolate shavings on top), made with my own fair hands:

Drank some wine. Well, I always do what I'm told:

And looked after the kittens:
Oh Titch, butter wouldn't melt, would it?
Bruce has the most ginormously fluffy tail EVER:
Home now though. Ahhhhh.
