I have had no charity shop luck for ages. A change of scenery this weekend did the trick though! I was kitten wrangling and house sitting in the wilds of West Lancashire as my brother was off having a drunken birthday weekend somewhere. Whilst I was there, what could be better than a little trip to Ormskirk and Burscough to check out their charity shops?
M&S Limited Collection shorts
An old Pentax camera case. How cute a handbag will this make? Look:
Two scarves, only £1 each. If the Aquascutum one is real then I will be as pleased as punch. If not, it's still rather fab so I don't really care.
Jewels! The beads and scarf ring were both half price at 70p and 50p respectively. The marcasite brooch was the princely sum of £3.50.
Oh and some books. Obviously.
And in non-charity shop related news, I went to a sweet shop:
And ate leftover birthday cake (triple choc fudge cake with sea salt and lime chocolate shavings on top), made with my own fair hands:
Drank some wine. Well, I always do what I'm told:
And looked after the kittens:
Oh Titch, butter wouldn't melt, would it?
Bruce has the most ginormously fluffy tail EVER:
Home now though. Ahhhhh.

Great finds! The charity shops around my way are massively overpriced and feature way too much Primark, so I may take your tip of changing scenery!
ReplyDeleteAww kitties! Titch looks a lot like my Georgie, and Bruce is one of the best names I've ever heard for a kitten. My lil' sis has a cat living next door to her called Philip- I LOVE animals having human names!

That bag makes me weep with joy! I'm not sure if we are charity shop physcic buddies or what but I was eyeing up a leather binocular case with the same idea! I didn't purchase as it still had the binoculars in so cost about £20, boo xx

ReplyDeleteThe kittens are so adorable, and look to have grown since last time you posted about them. I always find a change of scenery charity shop-wise brings up the best goodies. I must admit the shorts are very you and you know M&S quality will last it’s time. The Pentax case makes a lovely little bag there x

Those cats are gorgeous! Next door's cat is very friendly and always fuss him when he comes into the garden to say hi. And that sweet shop is like something out of an old movie! I love the camera bag too, and it's lovely when the roses bloom like they do, it really brightens up the garden. xxx

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of salt in a cake before.
Great finds Alex! I have no luck thrifting. Cute kittens too, as lovely as mine are I always want to steal other peoples cats too - just for a quick hug :O)
ReplyDeleteOne must always do what one is told where wine is concerned. Rude not to.

Ahhh, Titch looks like a right little poser!
ReplyDeleteLovely finds, loving the camera case - have seen a few actual vintage cameras in charity shops lately and wanted them so bad even though I wouldn't use them, but they were like £30!! Gah!
