Brrrrr!!!

Tuesday 8 March 2011

I was hoping that the arrival of March would mean that I could start to venture into some springtime dresses. Ha! It's been freezing recently! I've had to pile the layers back on, dig out my gloves and scarves and scrape the ice off the car in the mornings. Luckily I have a lovely new charity shop find to keep me warm.

I have no idea what I'm doing with my hand here but I was having a very bad, fat sort of day (can you tell from the face of doom?) and I look thinner here so the photo clearly has to be used!

Jumper - vintage, 100% cashmere, via Oxfam
Shorts - George sale
Brogues - River Island sale
Necklace - Stolen Thunder
resemblance to Rupert the Bear - entirely unintentional!

I won this fab necklace and a matching ring in Jen's giveaway last year and the extremely nice folks at Stolen Thunder have been in touch with me since to offer up a shiny discount code.

Never fear, my integrity has not been compromised - no freebies have come my way (still haven't quite worked out my stance on those). I just like to let you all know about shops that I approve of, plus I thought you might appreciate the chance of a discount on some lovely jewellery! Use the code FROCKS at checkout for the next month and you'll get 15% off.

They'll be taking custom orders soon and I can't wait; I have a very cool present planned for a friend. She reads this though so I can't reveal what it is just yet...

Anyway, here are some of my faves:

Tiny Birdcage Necklace

Upright Owl ring

Floozy ring

Almost as good a word as trollop, yes?

Babushka Face stud earrings

Anchor brooch

Go forth and treat yourself...

  16. I know what you mean, I look out the window & see people in hardly any clothes then get outside myself & its blimmin' freezing! I love your shorts & the necklace & ring are just fab...I love stolen thunder but have never bought anything, so I might have to use your discount code as an excuse. I NEED that owl ring :)

No, I didn't put a bet on the game but I really wish I had now. My boyf's Dad asked me what I though the score would be so I said 3-1 & he just laughed at me! It was so nerve wracking especially after their last meeting & all the drama/yellow cards that went on...such a shame about the Man U goal at the end, 3-0 would have been even more satisfying! :)

  20. I love the jumper and it's made me crave banana toffee now. I don't know if you can still get it but it came in a slab sandwiched between plain toffee.

  21. Thanks for the comment, Alex. I'm glad you like the bracelets. And that owl ring is so cute. Patch is perking up a bit, but the lump's still there so we're just keeping him comfy for now. xxx

  23. Aaw these are so sweet! It's rare you find nice wooden jewellery, these still manage to be quite delicate. Hmm I agree with your confusion about freebies/do I post about them etc... I've just had some accessories sent to me but they are just so darn cute I couldn't help myself. I think if it's an occasional feature and stock you genuinely like then it's ok and forgiveable :) jazzy ♥

  24. Oh! To answer your question, of course you can use the "Date A Girl Who Reads" piece :)

I just had the same dilema re integrity that you did as I posted about something in my post but it was just me wanting to show off some cute wares I had discovered, like you. x
