Slouch

Monday, 12 September 2011

Here I come, leaping and bounding into autumn with a giant slouchy jumper and a maxi skirt. Who cares about looking slinky? I want to be COSY.

To be strictly accurate, my bounding and posing was all done last week. It is fricking windy here today and I don't dare take outfit photos for fear of disappearing off into the distance Mary Poppins-style. Actually that would be quite fun, no? Except I work close to an airport so it wouldn't exactly be very sensible to be zooming round in the sky. Anyway...

Thank you for the photo suggestions everyone. I shall stick it out in the open air for as long as possible (the wall would get lonely without me around) and then see what the possibilities are with white sheets/backgrounds. If I get frostbite or hypothermia I'm blaming it on *you*.

I am massively in love with these boots right now. Typical of me though - I seem to be inexorably drawn towards suede(ish) footwear. One day I may perhaps realise that it really isn't a practical choice in this sort of climate. In the immortal words of my friend Lee, "how can someone with as many pairs of shoes as you not own a single sensible pair??"

  1. i think that bounding around in the sky would also be *really* cold - you'd need more layers..and also an umbrella?!
i love the autumn colours though, you do suit autumny colours really well (which is a good thing!) :)
And why would anyone want practical footwear when they could have lovely boots and shoes?! Bore off practical!

  5. Hey, the maxi skirt makes you look taller. Nice! I'm glad you got those boots, I myself have been looking for suede western boots reminiscent of Isabel Marant's.

  12. I do love that skirt, and it's perfect with a slouchy knit. Don't you find the weather so irritating at the moment? yesterday I was freezing in the morning so bundled up in a chunky knit only to spend the rest of the day feeling hot and today I'm cold with no jumper to keep me warm! Grrrr!

  19. I don't own a single sensible pair either - and proud! Sensible shoes are a whole different species from beautiful ones.

  20. I really like this look on you. I have no maxi skirts but i think they might be the way forward for winter when teamed with a chunky jumper like this. Cute boots too!

BTW - i found outdoor posing a tad challenging during the recent winds too but am sticking it out (for now).
