I had a Disney-deprived childhood. The only animated films we had were The Little Mermaid and Robin Hood. Fine choices, I'm sure you'll agree, but I'm still the weirdo who's never watched Snow White, Cinderella, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast... the list goes on.
Our animated film of choice was The Raccoons and the Lost Star. I watched it so many times over the years that I now have a trigger in my brain. When I hear the word raccoon I immediately go "Bert Raccoon, flying ace!" and I do it with great gusto.
That's Bert, rocking an amazing initial jumper. He liked planes btw. It's not just something I made up.
So, hello there raccoon top! And if you're wondering, hell yes I ran round in it going "FLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE" and pretending to be a pilot. It would be rude not to.
Excellent addition to the #wardrobezoo, isn't it? I was so tempted to whack on a pair of my blue Irregular Choice cat patterned shoes as well but sometimes I have to play it on the safe side for work. Boo.

OMG I love it, and I love that the raccoon I had vague memories which I was worried may have been imagined, actually existed! Was he a cartoon as well?

I loved the raccoons! Back when phones could first get mp3 ringtones I had 'run with us' (the theme tune) as my ring tone, how sad?!
ReplyDeleteLove the top though
Oh god I loved the Racoons! Cyril Sneer was so evil! Also loved the theme tune, and it seems like the rest of the comments say the same! Also loved the Animals of Farthing Wood. TV theme tunes stir so many childhood memories! x
