Party Frock

Friday, 17 December 2010

So then, the work Christmas party. My pre-Christmas social life mainly revolves around daytime stuff as none of my friends really go in for parties, so this is the only real evening thing I have planned. I kind of like it that way though - leisurely afternoon drinking with pals is more fun for me than a hectic party.

I'm off to London between Christmas and New Year for much theatre going with my pal Lee and back to Newcastle with him until early Jan. I really don't like New Year but I do really like Lee and I don't see him often enough so I'm making an exception this year. I'm sure much quaffing of alcohol will take place over that week so it's probably a good thing that I'm not going mad with the parties before Christmas. I'm pleased to report no hangover this morning!

Anyway, party outfit!

The detail on the bag hasn't shown up at all but it's sort of fabric whirled roses all over

Dress - Primark
Shoes - Irregular Choice
Ring - vintage, charity shop
Earrings - Accessorize
Bag - H&M

I am so bashful in front of the camera. These photos were taken by a person (thanks Tonks!) rather than the tripod and self timer and I officially HATE looking at the camera. Also, I don't think the dress has quite photographed to best advantage as it really is rather lovely in real life.

The purchase of it was remarkably easy though - no stress or hours of trawling the shops for me. I saw a rail full of these dresses being wheeled out as I was walking to the till in Primark and grabbed one straight away. Beautiful colour, sleeves (yay for dresses with sleeves), plain but with a little bit of detailing. Perfect.

Ffion was sporting an equally fetching frock and some shoes that I would quite like to pinch.

  1. Erm I think I'll be needing both those pairs of shoes....thanks.

There's just something so exciting about getting dressed up! Even though, as a rule, I hate it, when I've done it and I'm waiting to go out I have to admit I get a kick out of that little shiver of excitement!
