When I win the lottery (preferably the Euromillions) I will own something like this
And it shall be a themed bookshop with a library full of crime books, a drawing room full of ladylike novels, a boudoir full of racier ones, a kitchen full of cookbooks, a nursery full of children's books, a study full of divine stationery and much much more.
(you'll have to imagine the books in place)
(you'll have to imagine the books in place)
And there shall be a proper teashop attached where customers can eat disgustingly large slices of cake and drink tea and champagne out in the garden. It will not sell cupcakes. It will sell fairy cakes because that's what they're called. But mostly just proper big slices of cake.
And subject to there being enough outbuildings, perhaps a craft shop chockfull of tempting goodies. And a vintage shop where the staff don't look down their noses at you if you go in wearing jeans.
Alex, I share your vision! The ponies and the bookshop are definitely right up there on my list of number 1 things to dream about. Great post! xxx
ReplyDeleteCor, he is so yummy......he could "jump" me any day of the week.....:>))

Oh such lovely pics there! I'd love somewhere like that too - that kitchen! I don't want to look up from my laptop to see my *actual* surroundings now :( Hope you're feeling better today! x
ReplyDeleteCan I have a granny flat in one of the wings or the attic please?
ReplyDeleteI would be around every weekend anyway even if I didn't live there so it'd only make sense for you to charge me rent!
WHY doesn't someone create this haven of tranquility?
xxx Maddie
What a dream - such a bookshop would indeed be heaven, and I'm up there with you on the Fairy Cakes - we're British and our little iced cakes are Fairy Cakes not American cupcakes. xxx
ReplyDeletehahaha beautiful pictures, it'd be amazing to live among so many books!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm liking the last picture especially :)
Your caption under it made me laugh!
When that happens, can I move in with you? I'm an excellent roommate and I plan to go to librarian school in a year and a half.. so I can take care of all of your bookshop needs!
ReplyDeleteWow, can I come work for you in this dream, it sounds divine?
ReplyDeleteKandi x
Lol! the fairy cake bit made me chuckle! Good luck with the lottery honey!!
ReplyDeleteYou'd have to get him to redecorate that sitting room (preferably in something very skimpy) as I know you don't do pink.
ReplyDeleteHoorah for the fairy cake, let's ban the "C" word. xxx
Yes please!!! I love the idea of the themed bookshop. And the hunky man.. you definitely gotta have one of those to go with the house. Fingers crossed for you Alex! Hahaha :)
ReplyDeletethats o lovely dream, i wouldnt mind this sort of dream myself, wspecially if it has him in it :) (and the cake!)
ReplyDeletelove all your ideas, lovely post!
sorry about the spelling errors in the above, i think the pic of Oli Townend put me off ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here nodding sagely.
ReplyDeleteI went to a cottage in Robin Hood's Bay this weekend and it was so sweet and well decorated, I'm going to put up pictures of the kitchen because it's EXACTLY what I want. And when I win the lottery I will buy it and live there with my two (future) sausage dogs, Archibald and Benedict.
Haha how amazing! Themed rooms for books would be heaven! And plenty of men to look at too of course. And cats, you've forgotten some cute cats purring by a fire xx
ReplyDeleteWow the room with the pinky patterned wall paper and striped chairs is my actual idea of furnishing heaven! x
ReplyDeleteAaah gorgeousness! I'd have to agree 99% with your vision (sorry, lost me slightly on the pink wallpaper!), I'd just die for a library in my big old dream house - next to the gym and the maid's quarters possibly, hehe :)
ReplyDeleteCan I run the vintage store? I don't mind jeans as I wear them myself! Love the idea of themed book rooms, there should also be a map room with travel books x
ReplyDelete:) I love how you divided all the books in different rooms! And a vintage store is a great idea, plus, everything could be cheap because you will be super rich anyways from having won all that money in lottery! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic plan, the house interior pics are amazing! And cake & champagne must be the perfect combination haha. Fingers firmly crossed for that lottery win ;) Hope you're feeling better now!
ReplyDeletePlease can I come and visit? A nursery full of children's book and a kitchen full of cook books... I will be there within the hour!
ReplyDeleteI would love to live in a grand old house full of many many books and wonderful treasues.
What a beautiful dream x
Please invite me to your new home, where the cake and wine shall flow and we can play dress up all day =)
