Clashtastic

Wednesday 22 June 2011

This is what happens when you have 10 minutes to get dressed and ready in the morning. Skirt gets grabbed from the wardrobe, there's a frantic rummage through the ironing pile to find something that sort of goes in terms of colours, a quick press and away we go.

As as a result I think I am pattern clashing more than I have ever pattern clashed before. I blame the skirt. I love it, but it's quite lively isn't it? I've only ever worn it with block colours before but as you may already know from my witterings about The Great Top Shortage of 2011, I don't have a great selection in the wardrobe in the moment. Patterned top it had to be. I'm not particularly fussed, even if it has already drawn the odd weird look from people at work. So what if it clashes? I'm dressed - what more do you want?

Top - H&M via charity shop

  3. If I owned that skirt I'd want to wear it every day! Luv it!
Gosh, yes...I rarely pay full price for an item, even in TKMaxx! But having said that, in my photo, the skirt was full price at 19.99 and the espadrilles, @ 3 quid a pop! Hardly outrageous, tho'!

  5. I agree with Pearl - I love these together, they complement each other rather than clashing I think!

  6. I don't think they clash either. The pattern on the top looks like fans, which mirror the shape of the parasols on the skirt.
I love the blue of your shoes and in the top and skirt.

  14. They look great and the shoes tie them together brilliantly! I can't believe you have time to iron things on a morning! How would the Lowry shirt go with this skirt, or is that too clashy-clashy??

  27. Nope, you look FABULOUS. Kudos, lady. It is also the Year of The Great Top Shortage for me, too - remember those rusty harems I bought? Was in tears trying on tops to go with. It's poor...

  28. Primark is the only place I'll ever buy anything full price. Oh, to not be broke.

What's funny is the patterns do clash but they look fantastic! And the shoes go so beautifully with your top - probably would have been a bit much if the shoes had been patterned too!

  30. I personally like the pattern clash! I’ve admired that print on that skirt before, it’s so different and unusual. I always hunt out the sale/clearance racks, it’s just habit x

  32. PS. I can't remember the last time I bought anything full price xx

  33. Love it, I think that the blue in the top, skirt and shoes ties it all together. And then the yellow of the cardi is there in the skirt too, so you actually look very co-ordinated. In fact, I think it looks kinda high fashion. Clashing-matchy.

(Full price? Oh, how I laugh.)
