A Skirt Called Paddington

I MADE A SKIRT.

Look!

It took an extreme amount of faffing but this is par for the course where me and crafty things are concerned. I spent most of Sunday blankly staring at some pattern pieces on the floor and trying to get my head round how it would work. I failed. The fabric wasn't the right shape and size and it was all far too difficult. So I went rogue, ditched that pattern, made up the skirt from my favourite Simplicity 2444 frock and attached it to the waistband of the skirt pattern I was considering originally. It all worked out rather well in the end. And this was the first time I've ever done a proper waistband or mixed two patterns together so yay me!

I feel like I've done the marvellous fabric a little bit of justice. It totally deserved to be turned into something excellent. Do you want to see some closeups? Of course you do!

Artist Paddington!

Cake sniffing Paddington!

Cricketing Paddington!

Table hurdling Paddington!

Chimney Sweep Paddington!

Tisn't Paddington without marmalade, so I had a marmalade sandwich to celebrate finishing it.

Red shoes make me happy.
