Feeling Blue

Panic not. The title of this post isn't literal. I'm not gloomy or anything. I'm actually fairly hyper due to my usual high intake of coffee and the prospect of a day volunteering at the British Eventing competition at Kelsall Hill tomorrow. Yay, horses!

I just somehow ended up wearing many, many shades of blue. Cardi, coat, shoes, tights, jewellery..even my specs are blue! If you squint hard enough then the bag and skirt could be classed as grey-ish blue and greeny-blue. Right? Oh ok then, not really.  But considering I didn't even think I owned this many blue things, that's quite good! It's not generally a colour that appeals to me but I may be changing my mind on that point.

Did I mention yay, horses!  Cos look, they're on my top.  Yay, horses!  I bought this in Bath (tres appropriate given the Regency/carriage driving heritage) on a complete whim.  You know when you walk past a shop and your pattern radar locks in on something awesome?  It was one of those moments. I had to buy it. It's brilliant.

A Very Pretty New Frock

Well hello there new frock!

When I was in Leeds for my recent theatre trip I popped into Primark in search of that gorgeous blue and white dress that everyone has been raving about since the spring/summer lookbook got released. I didn't find it, but I was just as pleased with this beauty.  My eye initially fell on the shirt made from the same fabric but it was covered in hideous tacky studs (why must shops do this? Whyyyyyyy???????) so I bit the bullet and got the dress version instead. 

It might not sound like a huge leap of faith.  You're probably sitting there thinking "Why is she afraid of pale frocks?" Well, I am a notorious spiller and also quite good at sitting in chocolate and other messy things.  White frocks are therefor not high on my list of sensible clothing to wear but with a pattern this pretty, an exception had to be made.

It looks like Delft tiles! I adore it.

I kept getting Bodhi-bombed mid-frolic though. He was adorably excited to have that many people playing with him in the garden! Such a cutie.

She'd change her shoes. Red glittery heels are all well and good but when you have to tread a more cobbled path than the yellow brick road, glittery navy smart shoes are the sensible option...

She'd don a cape. Obviously. Why should the wicked witch get all the fun accessories?

She'd leave Toto behind. The interwebs belong to the cats: we all know that.  Every outfit is improved by a little #wardrobezoo...

And she'd definitely have moved on from a wicker basket to a bag of the more chic variety.
