Evening all. Just a quick* Monday outfit post - I'm working from home tomorrow and won't be wearing anything interesting enough to bother blogging so thought I might as well pop up a few pictures tonight instead.
Today was a first run out for this rather lovely vintage shirt which I picked up for £2.99 in a charity shop. Bargain! I only realised today that it's missing a button or two but luckily they aren't in crucial places and there are a couple of spares sewn on the inside anyway. I'm pondering a full button alteration though as they're not the most interesting. It has a rather wonderfully pointy collar but as you will read below, pictures are proving a problem tonight so I can't show it to you. Sorry!

Shirt - via Oxfam (original label is half cut out so not sure of the brand)
Jeans - Dorothy Perkins
Brogues - River Island sale
Jacket - think it's Primark originally but I got it for 50p at a car boot sale and it's practically brand new.
Bag - Next (brand new) via charity shop
* well it was intended to be quick. I have killed the laptop tonight though (it's really dead and won't even load up in safe mode) so had to hook up the old pc to write this. Naturally it won't work with the wireless network so I've spent the last three hours lying on the floor in the hall with it plugged into the world's shortest cable, battling to edit pictures. I gave up in the end. Apologies about the picture quality.
I wonder if it's worth it sometimes. Surely a sane person would have just gone to bed by now, not be lying in the cold begging an inanimate object to work.
Dear Alex, you did well persevering and doing a post. I'm forever having to tinker about with machinery in trying to trick it into doing what I want.
ReplyDeleteI like your whole look, the bag and the brogues are good too. I'll keep my fingers crossed your laptop miraculously comes back to life xx
Those jeans look fab on you. Its so annoying when technology won't play ball, i applaud your efforts though x
ReplyDeleteHi Alex! The jeans, the blouse, the shoes, the bag...they are all wonderful. I'm thinking crisp, white, opaque buttons on the blouse would work rather well.
ReplyDeleteI can't bear computer malfunations, it's one area that leaves me at a complete loss. xxx
Technical issues drive me round the bend. I'm impressed you stuck it out that long. Good job. Hope the laptop is up and running soon.
ReplyDeleteNice outfit. The colours all compliment each other so well. The shoes are gorgeous! x
Ooh, love the shirt ... and the shoes ... AND the bag! :D You're looking slimmer and slimmer all the time you know. Fingers crossed for the computer! xx
ReplyDeleteAlex, I've soooo been there, crying in frustration at the laptop for disconnecting randomly, blogger for not uploading photos, etc etc, it has sometimes taken me HOURS to do a tiny little post and you really do think- is it only me thats reading this? Why am I bothering?!
ReplyDeleteLuckily you have lots of loyal, lovely readers who appreciate you lying on that hall floor for us!
Love the shirt, such a gorgeous pattern!

Speaking as someone who was up until 1am last night valiantly trying to connect to the internet and telling myself "Just one more time" every time I had to either disconnect my dongle or restart the computer I can fully sympathise.
ReplyDeleteHurray for working from home though!
that next bag is just lovely!
ReplyDeletei have a bit of a thing for tan bags at the moment xx
I think that outfit would look nice with a red cardigan. I have a thing for red cardis at the moment though.
ReplyDeleteWell done you for persevering! I have to admit, I'd have given up long before anything made it to my blog.
Well done for persevering, I would have sworn a bit and then given up! The shirt is lovely, it would be fun if you could find little blue flower buttons or suchlike.
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with your perseverance, I think I'd have given up by now! The outfit looks great on you, I sooo love the bag. xxx
ReplyDeleteI love th shirt, it loooks really good on you, and the bag is an immense charity shop find! :)
ReplyDeleteThe air would've been blue round here, you obviously have way more patience than me. I've always loved brogues and yours are really cute. x
ReplyDeleteI like the pattern on the shirt :)
ReplyDeleteOh Alex, I love your shoes
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah what did we do before 'reliable' laptops, I dread to think how I'd cope without mine! Fabby bag :)
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating, I've been guilty of screaming at my laptop in the past. Lovely shirt and I love the brogues and bag (great that you found a brand new Next bag). xx
ReplyDeleteO,jeez, technology is a maddedning thing and so bloody unreliable!! We've all been there,I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteCute shirt,and I'm loving the bag!!! Eeek!Great score,that!

Love the tan and details; the jacket, the bag and the squares on that dress. And the shoes! Yay for cheap clothing. Sorry your laptop's not working! Working from home? What do you do again?
ReplyDeleteBag and brogues so great! Laptops - love and hate'em. But what can we do? Rely on them. Mine is six years old and still going strong - mostly. Can't afford a new one and really it's OK but just goes on a frolic of its own every so, increasingly, often. Guess I will just drive it into the ground.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and technology get back to good terms soon!
ReplyDeleteI loveeeee your shoes.
CLOTHED MUCH, a modest fashion blog

the color combo on the print of your blouse..:D
ReplyDelete♥ vanilla ice cream ♥
I think that replacing buttons is one of the easiest ways to spruce up a less than inspiring piece. It is super easy, looks great, and allows you to personalize your wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the tech problems. I'm awful with technology, so when glitches come up, I'm at a loss.
I remember wanting a similar coat like that from Primark ages ago but never tracking it down. 50p is a major bargain price.
ReplyDeleteThe River Island brogues look fabulous too x
I have a love/hate relationship with technology! My Mr(a techy) always has a go at me when I start shouting at the laptop and throwing it around because it is useless!
ReplyDeleteI love your brogues, I haven't looked in Rivwer Island for ages!
